Empties #1

Hey everyone.
Today i'm back with my first empties post.
I have 5 items to share with you.

The first two items are the Great Hair shampoo and conditioner.

As some of you may know, my hair has gone through a lot in the last two years. Red, bleached, lilac, stripped, red again and now I'm trying to go back to brown. My hair was very dry and coarse. My hair dresser recommended something with Moroccan oil/ argon oil in it. So I found these in my local Unicare. They were €7 each. This is pricey in my opinion but I needed something that would work. I can safely say they worked. The texture of my hair really improved and it smells like coconut.
One thing some people may not like is that the shampoo does not lather. Personally this doesn't bother me.

My next item is the Garnier 2 in 1 makeup remover.

This is my number one dual phase makeup remover. It removes my waterproof mascara and my inglot gel eyeliner. Which is no mean feat. This product is always on offer and is affordable at full price. I have two more of these on rotation in my bathroom. Love it.

This smell of this scrub is the most delicious thing I've ever smelled.

The scent of the sugar crush line is by far my favourite by Soap and Glory. I would use it as a perfume if they bottled it. Well... Maybe not. But you get what I'm saying. It's a great scrub that isn't too coarse for my sensitive skin. I'm currently using another scrub, but once I'm done with that one, I'll repurchase sugar Crush. Most definitely.

The last product is by Benefit. It's the famous Erase Paste. I'm in the shade fair. Of course.

This one took a long time to go through. It's a great creamy concealer with a salmon/ peach tone to it. They really helps to correct my under eye circles. I am yet to find a concealer that does not crease on me, so I won't put that down as a con for this product. I place this right in the inner corner and down on my dark circles and then top it with a light reflecting concealer. I already have a backup in my makeup bag.

I'm happy to say that was a postive empties. No bad products here.
Have you used any of these products? Would you repurchase?
Until next time.
Have a good one.

Purple Rain

So dolls, it's been a while. But I'm back.
Today I decided to experiment with some colourful shadows instead of my normal neutrals. I always gravitate towards purples when adding a pop of colour to my eye look.
So this is what I created.

I started by applying  mac's vapour to the inner corner and brow bone to act as my highlight. I chose this colour because it's an off white with a pink/purple sheen to it. Perfect for this look.
I then took mac'a hepcat over the moving part of the lid, this is a beautiful magenta purple shade.

I then placed mac's fig1 into the crease and outter v. This is my favourite matte true purple eyeshadow . To really define the outter v I chose to use mac's beauty marked eyeshadow. Now, this shadow looks beyond gorgeous in the pan with those purple sparkles in it. But I'm going to be honest, unless you pack on this shadowand use no form of blending; it will not look like it does in the pan. But I used it as it's a deep purple tone to define the outter v without black.

I then used my trusted and very beloved inglot gel liner in no77. I live for this gel liner as it's matte, super black and does not budge. It's also reasonably priced which is always a bonus.
The lipstick I wore was Whimsical by Topshop which is a pastel orange shade.

Perfect for spring summer.
So what did you guys think of this look? Will you be sporting some colour this spring summer?
Let me know what you guys think!
Have a good one.

Rose Gold Pressed Pigment

Hello my lovlies.
I have a makeup look for you today.
Yesterday I had a day off from work so decided to play around with my pressed pigment from Mac. I picked up the pressed pigment in Pink Pepper from Mac last Autumn and fell in love. It's a rose gold colour with a touch more pink.

I started off with Mac's eyeshadow in Haux in the crease and blended upwards. Haux is a warm mid tone brown and is brilliant as a transition colour or to warm up the crease.

On the outer V and directly into the crease i placed Mac's eyeshadow in Embark. Embark is a gorgeous deep chocolate brown and is one I always gravitate towards to add depth to an eye look.

Here comes the pigment. Dun dun dunnnnn..
I sprayed my flat shader brush with Mac's Fix+. This helps to grab the colour, pack it on smoothly and prevent fallout. Fallout with pigments can sometimes be inevitable so this step is essential for me. I placed Pink Pepper pressed pigment on my inner corner to the middle of the lid to meet Embark and I blended any harsh lines.
I brought some Embark along the lower lash time and blended it out with my fluffy blender brush from Zoeva.

For eyeliner I used Benefit's Babe Cake brown with Fix+ to line the upper lash line and finished it off with Maybelline's The Rocket mascara.

Et foila.

I haven't been able to get my hands on the Urban Decay Naked3 so i wanted to create my own rose gold look with this beautiful pigment.

I feel like the rose gold really made my blue eyes pop too.
What do you guys think?
That's all for now.
Have a good one.

Silver Linings

Silver is always what I gravitate towards when it comes to good jewellery.

I thought I'd share with you some of my most worn pieces as of late.

I've always wanted a signet ring with my initials on it. My Mam kept a mental note of this and suprised me with this lovely sterling silver, heart shaped signet ring with my initials AJC stamped on the front.

She got it from the amazing Ennel Jewellers.
Check them out on Facebook. They have so many amazing pieces including Guess and John Rocha.

I have a fascination in semi precious stones and really believe in their healing properties. That's just my beliefs. The second ring on from the left is a sterling silver ring with a blue moonstone.

Blue moonstone is used for clarity in the mind and keeping you balanced.
This ring came from my favourite eBay seller based in India; silver organisation.
This seller has so many semi precious stones, some I've never even heard of. All their pieces are in sterling silver settings and cost around €8-€10 including postage. Totes amaze right?

Next up is a ring from one of my favourite online stores. Shopdixi.
Sometimes I just go onto their website just to drool over their items.
The stone in this ring seems looks like a cracked off white with pink running through it. It's really subtle and feminine.

Check out their twitter and Instagram for updates on new amazing items. I think this ring cost me €7. Love love this website!

The last ring is my newest edition and never seems to leave my hand these days. This History of Ireland ring was a gift from my lovely Mam for Christmas.

This particular one is based on the history of the Claddagh and is now discontinued to my knowledge.
Again it is sterling silver and a beautiful, unique piece.

These are the 4 rings that I seem to wear most days since before Christmas. I love them all.

What are your current favorite jewellery pieces?
Do you prefer silver to gold?
That's all for now dolls.
Have a good one.

Skin S.O.S

My skin is in dire need of something.
It feels dry and I'm breaking out. Not fun. So tonight I decided to pamper my skin a bit.
I removed my makeup with my trusted Garnier 2in1 makeup remover.

I then used Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean 3 in 1 wash off cleanser. I got this for Christmas. It smells like peaches and cream.
I've only used it one or twice so far so I can't say much about it as of yet.
But watch this space.
Next up is toner.
I used my much loved Boots tradition skin care Glycerin and rose water toner. I've been using this for years now and can't fault it.
Glycerin provides extreme moisture without being greasy and rose water has been used for years in beauty as it has natural healing properties, reduces blemishes and helps acne.
What's not to love about that??
I let that settle into my skin and then use my Superfacialist by Una Brennan Neroli facial oil.
I put two drops of this into my hand, warm it up and spread all over the face. This helps so much for my dry skin. It really moisturises without being overly greasy. Any extra moisture without being greasy is brill in my book.
After the oil has settled into my skin I
use my favourite skin product to date!
It's the Superfacialist by Una Brennan vitamin c skin serum. Love.
Vitamin c is amazing for your skin. It is known to brighten, lighten and tighten.  I can't fault this product. A pea size amount and that does my entire face. It also smells like those chewable orange vitamin c tablets you used to get when you were a kid. Yum!!
I've been using this for a few months and I have definitely seen a difference. My skin appears brighter and less dull.
This cost me around the €12 mark which is brilliant considering you only use a pea size amount per night. This has been a standout product for the past few months and I will continue to repurchase it long after my current bottle is finished.
I need to find a good night cream and eye cream. Does anyone have any recommendations?? I would love to hear them.
That's all for now guys.
Have a good one :)

Hair care

I've been dying my hair red for years and one day I decided I needed a change and took it upon myself to bleach it all and dye it lilac.

I loved the way it looked. But I really didn't like the way my hair felt. It was dry and whispy and just all around unhealthy. I shouldn't have been shocked after what I had done to my hair with bleaching it at home!

After a few months I couldn't take the upkeep or dryness anymore so I wanted to go back to my colour, red.
This was harder than I had hoped it would be.
My hair dresser had to strip the purple residue from my hair with a bleach bath. And then dye it red. I loved how it looked but after a few days again I noticed it was dry and the colour seemed to fade to an off reddish white. This was because my hair had no natural pigment left for the dye to grab onto.
So I needed to invest in some argan/ Moroccan oil to put into my hair routine.

My friend Tasha from Natasha's Wonderland had picked up Argan oil heat defence spray, shampoo and conditioner so I in turn bought the heat protection spray to go with my greathair Moroccan oil shampoo and conditioner.
I also wanted to pick up and oil treatment.

So I picked up the Organix Moroccan argan oil hair treatment. Both of these together cost around the €12 mark. Not bad in my opinion.
After washing my hair, I towel dry it, spray with the argan oil heat defence spray and then run 2 drops of the oil treatment through the ends of my hair and blow dry. I've been really liking this combination.

The quality of my hair is continually improving and I don't feel the need to dye it with Crazy Colours as much. It now has natural shine and body.
I feel like my hair looks much better after using these products.
What do you think?
Let me know your thoughts if you've used these products?
What are your holy grail hair care products?

That's all for today dolls.
Have a good one.

Makeup remover problems

Am I alone in this world? Or does anyone else hate oil based makeup removers?
I don't like the residue it leaves,  the texture and the way my eyes feel after using it.
I tried using micellar solutions which worked great but I needed something more heavy duty for days when I wear waterproof mascara and such.
Along came a video by letzmakeup featuring Garnier simple essentials 2 in 1 makeup remover.
It was €3.89 and when I got to the tills, the girl from boots informed me that it was by one get one free. Even better!!!

This product is one of those split solution eye makeup removers. You shake it and it mixes the cleansing water(clear liquid) and the oil based makeup remover(blue liquid) together.

Et voila.

I pour a small amount onto a cotton pad, hold over my eye for 5seconds and my waterproof mascara, gel liner and eyeshadow are removed. Just like that. No rubbing or tugging on your lashes. It also doesn't feel super oily on my eyes or skin. Which means this is a winner for me!
The only small gripe I have with this is that it doesn't stay mixed for long so you have to shake it between each eye/ cotton pad. Small problem that isn't really a problem? I think so.

At €3.89, buy one get one free and an excellent product, I will continue to repurchase this after these 2 bottles are gone.

Have you tried this product before?
What do you use to remove your makeup?

That's all for today dolls.
Have a good one!
